Well I'm definitely ready to be done. She can keep baking but when she's ready - I'm ready. Had my weekly doctor appointment yesterday and everything is still looking great.
We did schedule an induction for March 15th if she hasn't arrived by then. I'll go to the hospital on the 14th at 5:00pm for check-in. She'll be 5 days late by then. I don't have any reason to induce early but after her due date I figured it was fair game. My doctor is going on vacation on the 17th and while I know she has partners, I prefer her.
It's kind of weird knowing that Lily will be here by the 15th. I know her due date is the 10th but it's not a guarantee. The 15th is guaranteed. Eeppp! Meanwhile every little cramp or contraction has me going "is this it?" So far, NOPE!
And I've spoken with my boss about working from home these last few weeks. I'm uncomfortable at work and I hate being so far from my hospital. My greatest fear is going into labor at work. At first my boss was very supportive of the idea but now I feel like she is just wanting me to go out on maternity leave early. She says she has to talk to her boss about it and hasn't yet. And keeps asking me to let her know when I'm going on maternity leave. Well the whole point was to go on leave once Lily was here, but if she won't let me work from home then I plan to go on leave starting on the 1st. Honestly the whole thing is irritating me so much I want to just go on leave starting tomorrow. But since I was out yesterday, I feel like I should give them the next three days. Decisions!
Re: 38 weeks
I went on leave early with both of my kids. I wish I hadn't because it took time away from me being home with the baby. I'm not sure if you are going back to work after baby but if so I really would recommend holding out as long as possible. If your not going back to work I would go ahead and take off because their is no point in you worrying and you can get a little extra r and r before baby is here.
I hope she comes sooner than later for your sake the last couple weeks can be brutal. (Uncomfortable)... I will be thinking of you.
I am not planning to go back to work. Originally I was working up to the day I went into labor just to save as much time off as possible for extra paychecks after she arrived. But the closer I get the more I'm wanting some R&R time before she gets here.
Ultimately I'd love to be able to work from home up to going into labor. I'm going to try to talk to my boss again today to see if it's still a possibility. Crossing my fingers!
